The Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities (TCDD) is pleased to announce the selection of Scott Daigle as the agency’s Public Policy Director. Before joining TCDD, Daigle served as the Chief of Staff for Texas State Representative Donna Howard. In this role, he worked to develop and pass legislation, as well as direct communication and outreach strategies for the representative. In all, Daigle served on Rep. Howard’s staff for 12 years, spending the last six as Chief of Staff. He earned a bachelor’s degree in drama from the University of New Orleans and as a professional actor he has performed in numerous productions across the country. Daigle’s experience working for a state lawmaker – where he connected with constituents, developed a network, crafted legislation, and ultimately worked to advance policy – will make him a true asset in his role at TCDD where he’ll direct the agency’s public policy activities.
“It’s an honor to join TCDD and lead the agency’s public policy efforts,” said Daigle. “I look forward to working to advance policies that create change so people with disabilities are included in their communities and exercise control over their own lives.”
Daigle’s hometown is New Orleans. He joined the TCDD team on June 1, 2018.
